On rare occasion CrystalBall will sometimes have problems when trying to read the registration file that tells CrystalBall whether your copy is in demo mode, expired, or whether it is a registered version.  This file's permissions under OS X sometimes get messed up. Or the system, for some unknown reason, doesn't allow access to the file.  We have a utility called CB Fixer that will help repair the registration file's permissions so that it can be accessed and written to when you enter your CrystalBall serial number.

It is also important that when you enter your serial number for CrystalBall that you are logged into the computer with an administrator account.  Otherwise the registration file cannot be written.  If you are having difficulties unlocking CrystaBall, make sure you are logged in as an administrator.  Once the you have completed entering your serial number you should be able to run CrystalBall from any of your user accounts.

If you still have issues in a restricted account you can try to repair the permissions of the registration file with the CB Fixer utility or you can run CB from an administrator account.
