When I open the program, it won't open. Instead, a window pops up that says:
Critical Error!!! NIL Exception: Please take note what was happening when this error occured and report it to the developer!
I click "OK" and then another window says:
An exception of class NilObjectException was not handled. The application must shut down.
I had downloaded the program and begun using it. I had to quit, but when I reopened it gave me the warning about the license purchase. I clicked the hyperlink but decided I would pay later. It was after this that I started experiencing this problem.
I've only created 2 notes so far, and they have like 5 things on them, so I'm not currently approaching the licensing threshold.
Please help! I really like your To-Do Stickies and plan on purchasing the license...but not if this keeps happening!

Just a quick note to tell you that I am working on this.
I am trying to pin down the bug right now and get a fix out.

Oh, and bye the way. This is a bug. Redownloading or reinstalling won't fix it.

I have fixed this bug.The reason you are getting the error is because To-Do Stickies can't find one of your files. It is supposed to warn you of the missing file. Instead it is crashing. I have fixed the bug. There is also a very embarrassing bug in the current version (1.4.2) that causes it to fail to find a new version. So to update to the new version please download it here: http://www.crystalballsoft.com/apps/tds/ToDoStickies143Mac.zipIf the Mac version is not what you are after visit the webpage for To-Do Stickies and get the version you need: http://www.crystalballsoft.com/content/blogcategory/21/46/

Uh oh: now when I start the 1.4.3 version, this pops up:
"Critical Error!!! Nil Exception: XMLmodule.LoadToDoStickey PLease report this error to the developer"
When I click OK it does pop up one of my lists, but the other two are missing. Also, general question: Will my former stickies be saved if I update the program? Just be honest because I don't want to keep having to remake my lists. That would kinda defeat the purpose and before I pay $15 I just want to get a sense of what to expect. I don't mind updating now and then if the Stickies themselves don't get affected.

I have looked at the section of code where that error is thrown and added some more error trapping to see if I can figure out where the Nil could be coming from. I have not released it yet... But I will in a few days.

The Reason:To-Do Stickies is trying to access the old website at .Mac or Moble Me. Before when it did this it would just get an HTTP error and nothing bad would happen. Now Mobile Me is sending back an error page that To-Do Stickies can not parse as XML. Solution:Update to the latest version of To-Do Stickies. (Download it here: http://www.crystalballsoft.com/content/blogcategory/21/46/)
